Smith&Smith® training

Talented and service-orientated people are hard to find, so when you join Smith&Smith® we’ll do everything we can to hold on to you!

Our training and development opportunities not only give you the skills you need to do your job well, but also grant you the ability to provide terrific levels of service. Whether you are a new or experienced Technician or Glazier, a Customer Service Representative, a Branch Customer Services Representative or part of our support function and management teams, we’ll provide you with training for both professional and personal success.

Technicians

If you choose to become a technician with Smith&Smith®, you’ll commence a two year Autoglazing Training Certificated Programme (ATCP) which has been developed specifically for our company. This 17 module programme is assessed externally, but as an alternative, you may be invited to complete an Autoglazing apprenticeship that is recognised by the NZQA.

Health and safety training is mandatory as well as guidance on how to provide customers with the best levels of service.

There are also many more opportunities to keep technicians equipped with the most up to date knowledge and skills – from Glass Repair and One Person Lift programmes to Ezi-Cut & Ezi-Wire training and Specialist Repair training.

Managers

All Branch Managers complete a comprehensive three month induction programme covering all facets of the business. During this time you are “buddied” with an experienced manager for additional support.

In addition to the executive development programme, an internal leadership programme will provide you with the framework and tools required to create a highly engaged team committed to delivering world class customer satisfaction.

Glaziers

If you choose to become a glazier with Smith&Smith®, you’ll commence a four year glazing apprenticeship that is recognised by the NZQA.

Customer Service Representatives

As part of this team, you’ll receive comprehensive technical & skills development training. Ongoing coaching by your team leader will help you to address your own personal development needs.
